Violence Prevention Involvement Opportunities

There are many ways to get involved and learn more about shifting the culture at UW-Madison. Here are some opportunities to get connected with other students, staff and faculty working to end violence on campus and get educated about how to prevent violence.

Consider joining any of these UW-Madison student organizations or committees: 

  • Promoting Awareness Victim Empowerment (PAVE)-UW | PAVE-UW is a student organization dedicated to preventing sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking through education and activism
  • EmBark | EmBark unites survivors of sexual assault and dating violence with the shelter animal of their choice
  • Sex Out Loud | Sex Out Loud promotes healthy sexuality through sex-positive education and activism
  • Gender and Sexuality Campus Center | The Gender and Sexuality Campus Center provides education, outreach, advocacy, and resources for UW-Madison student communities and their allies to improve campus climate and their daily intersectional experiences.
  • Planned Parenthood Generation Action at UW-Madison (PPGA-UW) | PPGA-UW exists to both educate the university community about, and advocate for, the right of all people to have access to comprehensive, unbiased, medically accurate, and respectful sexual and reproductive healthcare and education.
  • Student Title IX Advisory Committee (STIXA) | STIXA is a committee of students charged with advising the Dean of Students and the campus Title IX Coordinator on a range of Title IX and Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) issues
