Individual Counseling
An opportunity to improve your mental health in a confidential, caring space.
UHS utilizes a brief care model. This means that while we do not have a specific session limit, we aim to give students the tools and support need to manage their concerns in counseling sessions in less than a semester.
You may consider counseling if:
- You have concerns that may require multiple sessions
- You want to engage in identity exploration

What to expect
Sessions are 50 minutes and counselors work with you to address emotional, psychological, interpersonal, academic, or other concerns.
We are committed to matching you with a provider that will best fit your needs. You will have the opportunity to request a provider with specific identities, language proficiency, or areas of expertise. If you think your counselor may not be a good match, we encourage you to discuss your concerns with your provider or call UHS.
