Biography

Austin joined UHS Survivor Services as a Postdoctoral Internal in 2024. Austin works with survivors of sexual trauma and domestic violence, working to help them to heal from their experiences and empowering them to create a life and relationships that are meaningful to them. In addition to working with survivors, Austin specializes in working with LGBTQ+ populations, students of color, neurodivergence, disordered eating, and weight stigma. In his practice, Austin utilizes mainly Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Interpersonal Process Therapy as approaches to help support clients’ presenting concerns.

Austin notes, “Given my approach to therapy, identities are important; thus, I strive to be transparent about my own identities. I am a Multiracial, queer, cisgender man. Therapy with me combines having deep conversations with moments of humor and laughter. I value being genuine as a therapist to help build a safe and connected therapeutic space.”

Outside of his work at UHS, Austin enjoys reading, cooking, baking, running, playing video games, cuddling with his cute Corgi, and binge-watching Netflix, particularly Korean dramas.
