Mariessa Robles is originally from Northeastern California and their ancestral lands of the Mountain Maidu people. After completing their undergraduate studies at Boise State University in Idaho, they moved to the East Coast for graduate study. Robles has previous experience working in Child and Adult Inpatient settings, as well as coordinating an LGBTQ-focused, low cost clinic while residing in New York City.

Robles joined UHS in 2022 as a doctoral intern and chose to work in college health because of the energetic atmosphere of college campuses. They enjoy being around the hustle and bustle of student life, as well as being a part of students’ journey through the growth and change they experience during their college years. As a former marching band member for Boise State’s collegiate ensemble, they are thrilled to work with students involved in music and other performing arts.

Robles believes in building therapeutic relationships on the foundations of non-judgment, curiosity, and a bit of humor. They have experience and passion for working with students navigating exploration around gender, sexuality, relationship structures, and alternative lifestyles. In addition to providing counseling services, they are excited to collaborate with student groups, campus partners, and community members to cultivate a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC students on campus.
