Alex Little has strawberry blond hair and is wearing a white shirt and orange sweater vest.

Alex Little joined UHS Mental Health Services as a Survivor Services and Trans and Gender Diverse Mental Health Provider. They specialize in trauma-focused counseling; LGBTQ, trans, and gender diverse students; and mind/body wellness.

In their therapeutic work, Alex focuses on empowerment, self-determination, presence, compassion, and collaboration: “There are few things more magical to me than the work of healing, especially in post-traumatic growth. I enjoy getting into the complex, squishy, vulnerable parts of peoples’ inner worlds and scheming together about the path forward that you want to take.” Students who work with Alex describe therapy with them as being welcoming, strengths-based, somatic-focused, occasionally silly, and intentional. They typically use an eclectic blend of EMDR, mindfulness, ACT, IFS, CBT, and DBT skills in their therapeutic approach.

Outside of their work at UHS, Alex practices movement of many kinds (running, weightlifting, biking, yoga, etc), going to see live music, cooking for chosen family, bothering their cats and rabbit, and admiring the night sky as often as they can.
