The Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) provides comprehensive health coverage for UW–Madison students and scholars.

Coverage is effective from August 15, 2024.
The deadline for Annual and Fall enrollments is September 14, 2024.
Enroll by Phone
Call one of the following dedicated SHIP office credit card payment phone numbers listed below between 9 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Phone payment is accepted by VISA, MasterCard, or Discover.
Parents can enroll their registered student by phone.
The SHIP office has temporarily moved to the 5th floor of 333 East Campus Mall.
In-person assistance is available Wednesdays only, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Eligibility
Domestic Students
For U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents, who are actively enrolled at UW–Madison for at least six credits as an undergraduate student OR three credits as a graduate student.
International Students
For international students registered for class at UW–Madison on any type of non-immigrant status (such as an F-1, J-1, H-1, etc.).
International Scholars
For visiting scientists, professors, postdoctoral fellows, and students in academic training who completed their program of study, or non-degree research project students on a J-1 visa who are NOT registered for classes.
