UHS Prevention takes a policies, systems, and environmental change approach (PSE) to health equity. This approach is a process to examine how relationships, resources, environments, and policies create conditions for well-being and thriving. PSE approaches move beyond individual behavior change to address root causes of inequality. These relational strategies and resources below can move our campus in the right direction while also recognizing the need to advocate for structural change and full organizational support. Our hope is that this toolkit will provide tandem support to ongoing organizational efforts in creating well-being conditions for all.
Below are evidence-based health-promoting pedagogies and practices that encourage social connectedness, alleviate stress and anxiety, foster resilience, and empower students to take ownership over their learning and well-being.
