WisChoices is a registered student organization created to educate students at UW-Madison about alcohol consumption and to promote safe drinking habits and alternatives to drinking for students. The organization strives to educate through social events and other activities.

It was founded in 2008 as part of the NCAA Choices grant awarded to the Intercollegiate Athletics Dept and University Health Services, and a UHS staff member serves as its advisor.

Together with Student Emergency Medical Services (Student EMS), WisChoices students brought the Red Watch Band training program to campus in spring 2010.

In 2009-10, WisChoices won the Wisconsin School of Business Accenture Leadership Award for Outstanding Program Development at the Center for Leadership and Involvement’s annual Buckys banquet. This honor recognizes WisChoices as “a student organization that effectively plans and produces a unique event that benefits campus. This organization has a successful and effective marketing plan, sets concrete goals, and incorporates learning outcomes into the event.”
