Gynecological Physical Exam

May include, as needed:

  • Review of health history and health habits
  • Pap test (cervical cancer screening)
  • Sexually transmitted infection screening
  • Review and update of vaccines (some vaccines have fee*)
  • Evaluation and treatment for menstrual or vulvar/vaginal problems presented
  • Discussion of contraceptive options
  • Contraceptive prescription
  • Blood pressure and other vital sign screening

Contraception counseling and prescribing including:

  • Birth control pills, patch or ring (fee when prescription filled*)
  • IUD consult and insertion/removal (fee for device*)
  • Diaphragm fitting (fee for device*)
  • Contraceptive shot (fee for medication*)
  • Implanon implantable rod (fee for device*)

Emergencies

Pregnancy tests (available without appointment)

Pregnancy counseling and referral

Abortion counseling and post-abortion follow-up exam

Health problem assessment and treatment, including but not limited to:

  • Menstrual problems including painful periods
  • Vaginal symptoms
  • Vulvar pain
  • Pelvic pain
  • Painful sex
  • Polycystic ovarian syndrome
  • Ovarian cyst
  • Urinary tract infection
  • Sexually transmitted infection screening
  • Treatment for genital warts, genital herpes, and other genital bumps or sores
  • Sexual assault evaluation and support (for forensic evidence collection, Meriter Hospital ER recommended**)
  • Colposcopy (fee for biopsy, if needed*)
  • Cryotherapy
  • LEEP (fee applies*)
  • Gynecologic ultrasound
  • Evaluation and management of abnormal uterine bleeding
  • Disordered eating
